The future of energy efficiency: THERMINATOR joins the 2Cool2Waste cluster webinar at EUSEW 2026

As part of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2026, the THERMINATOR project will participate in the 2Cool2Waste Cluster Webinar entitled “The Future of Energy Efficiency: Practical Solutions for Heat Recovery and Electrification”, taking place online on 19 June 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (CET).

Bringing together eight Horizon Europe projects, the 2Cool2Waste cluster webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of innovative solutions supporting Europe’s transition towards more sustainable, energy-efficient, and decarbonised heating and cooling systems.

Organised within the framework of EUSEW 2026, the webinar aims to create a common entry point into key challenges and opportunities related to industrial decarbonisation, energy efficiency, electrification, and net-zero technologies. Through thematic panel discussions, participants will explore practical strategies and technological advances addressing both industrial and societal heating and cooling needs.

A collaborative European approach to sustainable heating and cooling

The webinar will highlight how collaborative European research and innovation projects are contributing to lower greenhouse gas emissions, improved thermal energy management, and greater energy efficiency across Europe.

Researchers, industry representatives, policymakers, and energy stakeholders will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss concrete solutions related to:

  • Heat recovery and heat reuse
  • Electrification of heating and cooling systems
  • Thermal energy management
  • Industrial and district heating and cooling networks
  • Flexible and integrated energy systems
  • Net-zero industrial technologies

Webinar programme

❄️ Panel 1 – Cooling without wasting energy: can heat help us cool?

This session will introduce the innovative approaches developed by the THERMINATOR and RE-WITCH projects to recover and reuse waste heat for sustainable cooling applications.

⚡ Panel 2 – Heat pumps: turning low-temperature heat into useful energy

The GEOSYN and SUSHEAT projects will present solutions based on advanced heat pump technologies designed to valorise low-temperature heat sources.

🏙️ Panel 3 – Energy systems working together: buildings, grids and flexibility

The SEEDS and SENERGY NETS projects will discuss integrated approaches improving energy flexibility and interoperability between buildings and energy grids.

🏭 Panel 4 – Decarbonising industrial processes: from fossil fuels to clean industrial heat

The EEETHOS and EXQUISHEAT projects will showcase technologies supporting the transition from fossil-fuel-based industrial heat towards cleaner and more sustainable alternatives.

About EUSEW 2026

The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is the European Union’s flagship annual event dedicated to renewable energy and energy efficiency. Organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), EUSEW gathers public authorities, industry actors, researchers, NGOs, and citizens to discuss the future of Europe’s clean energy transition.

The 20th edition of EUSEW takes place in a hybrid format, both onsite in Brussels and online, from 9 to 11 June 2026, featuring a high-level Policy Conference, the European Sustainable Energy Awards, the Energy Fair, the European Youth Energy Day, and numerous Sustainable Energy Days organised across Europe and beyond.
